Diary, 1863 Apr. 8-Aug. 22, 1888-1898.

Folger's diary (Apr. 8-Aug. 22, 1863) relating his experiences during the Civil War with the 99th Regiment, N.Y. Volunteers. he spent this time in Virginia, first near Suffolk then, from June 19, near Yorktown. He writes of front line fighting, marches, sickness, deaths, promotions, meetings with other regiments, desertions on both sides, weather, food, etc. Also includes a later section of poetry and biographical notes on famous Americans, possibly added by a different person.
